Create & Take Workshop - Sat Dec 5

The workshop was a rousing success...three students that had beautiful ideas and were great to visit with. I always feel that I get more out of the class than the students...they are so inspiring!

Farms & Barns Exhibition

The Farms and Barns Exhibition opening night was Friday evening at the Next Picture Show Gallery in Dixon IL.....Rather than jewelry (I had not created anything resembling a barn...although come to think of it....a corn husk in silver would be pretty cool)

...I had two of my photographs entered....16 x 20's on canvas....I love old barns and fields and always have my camera tucked away. We walked in an hour late as they were making their announcements...and lo and behold.

I received honorable mention for the photo above...named CORN SILK BLUES

I was I was in the company of my many friends/artists....whom I admire so very much...Friend Jan Harvey's oil of a lush countryside took first place and just to be in the fine company of Bob Logsdon, Jan, Bev Garcia, Fred Bushnell, Rick Munson, Jane Cress Edgar and many more...well I was glowing!

Show runs May 1 through June 2, 2009

A celebration of the multiple dimensions of women. This show celebrates women artists. You know. Artwork will depict women or objects related to women with themes that include, but are not limited to, jobs, chores, childbearing, moments of humor in their lives, their friendships and their pleasures, meals, an embrace, beauty regimes, family, and, finally, at rest.

This show is sponsored by Diane Schnake of The Frameworks
and by Century 21 Alliance, 224 North Galena, Dixon.

Media: 2D, painting (all medium), photography, textiles/fiber, printmaking, graphic illustration, drawing, mixed media.
