Christmas Love Prints

This Christmas Season was a new endeavor...most of my female clients were ordering
jewelry for their husbands & sons....

Here are a few pics
Local business owner Justine Messenger had me create a custom celtic cross for her son, including the family's birthstones.

She then had me create the LOVE PRINTS jewelry for an employee of hers...Amber had
twin babies in September...what fun taking these tiny fingerprints and turning them into a beautiful pendant for their Mother with their sapphire birthstone, along with their names and dates on the back....and what a fabulous boss Justine is for this precious gift and momento!

I also created some KEYCHAIN Pendants for the guys with the fingerprints of their loved ones on the front and names and birthdays on the reverse....of course...these were a bit heftier for the wear on tear they will get!

KILN vs Stove!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Christmas Day

.I am such a chef wannabe..thought since the boys were home I would prepare some of brother Todd's fabulous dishes...however, when you triple the recipe, I guess you don't need to triple the brandy when you are about to the flame your sauce...whoops!
It was fabulous though...thanks Todd!

Winter is here

a picture looking out of my studio on Thanksgiving here it is a few days later....

Thursday, November 27, 2008

It was a Thanksgiving for two...but what fun... Brian has prepared a turkey forever, but I decided to replicate the FALL FEAST Todd had prepared for me earlier in the a surprise for Brian and also so I had could have the kitchen to myself and he could put up all of the lights on the roof lines of the house before the first big snow.... is hard enough to do just one recipe for the first time...but I did them all....and my first flaming dish at that....I am just a little bit proud of my Pork Tenderloin with a flaming Brandy Cream sauce with fresh green peppercorns......fresh squash and the salad....well all of you know how much I love manchego and always try to buy it in quantity on my trips to Miami...well imagine it julienned with Honey Crisp Apples! Todd you are such an amazing chef (as well as my other Brothers....Scott & Kerry)...but walking me through it step by step and explaining the nuances of the was PERFECT!

Art on the Hill

Ann Haas! What a labor of Love....A gorgeous charity auction gala held at the PINEHILL B&B on Sunday September 7th. I donated a PMC abstract pendant with black and white freshwater pearls and was in the company of about 40 fine artists! WOW....first of all the location was enchanting....Chris...the place is magical...the artwork was displayed throughout the first floor and the dining room held an array of none other than Ann and her you think in your spare time you could open a restaurant???? Just kidding Ann...I do NOT know where you find the time....the audience enjoyed wine and fine hors d'oeuvres under a huge white canopy while bidding on these items to benefit the ROCK RIVER CENTER.

I had the joy of sitting with a favorite artist of mine...Jan Harvey and husband Ron. Jan's artwork sold really well in my gallery...Dragonfly Gallery...especially her gorgeous palette knife work! Check it out!
Also...since I had the pleasure of visiting with Bronze Sculptor Jeff Adams and gorgeous wife is his website too....he just finished pouring the life size bronze of Olympic Gold Medal Winner Shawn Johnson!!!!

The Rock River Center
is a non profit agency that is the designated focal point by the State of IL to provide services for individuals 60 + years throughout Ogle County. The $ raised from this event will be used toward the new facilities and services for seniors.

Don't forget to check my website for updates on Exhibitions and

Grand Detour Art Festival - Sunday - Sept 7

Above...Betty Adams is informing visitors of ART ON THE HILL...a gala charity auction at Pine Hill B&B today benefiting Rock River Center....I donated a PMC pendant and will drop by later today.

What a gorgeous day...70 degrees and a beautiful breeze and of of the best shows around....I rank it up there with the Stockholm Art Festival I used to do every July....What an opportunity to not only see the finest art around...but visit with our many "artist friends"
Kim and Bob Logsdon...Bob and Colleen are heading West and I cannot wait to see the fabulous photographic artwork he returns the way....
I spoke to Colleen Logsdon and she wants to take a PMC Silver Class from me...anyone interested???? I am going to set up something with Bonnie Kime at the Next Picture Show for either October of November
...Let me know if there is an interest OKAY???

the four pieces I have exhibited

I am Woman Exhibit

Women's Art Exhibition, "I am Woman," show opens on Aug. 15, 2008 woman1.jpgAn exhibit featuring women artists will open Aug. 15 at The Next Picture Show, 113 W. First St. The "I Am Woman" show, which runs through Sept. 16, will include artwork depicting women or objects related to women. "When we put our calendar together each year, we try to work in some new concepts. With this show, we wanted to feature work with themes ranging from jobs and childbearing to humor and friendships and much more," said Bonnie Kime, executive director of the gallery. "The art runs the spectrum from paintings in all mediums, photography, textiles/fiber, printmaking, graphic illustration, drawing and mixed media."
The show is open to the public with an artists' reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Aug. 15. The public is invited to stop by and meet the artists. Pat Schaible, owner of Something Special at 123 W. First St., is the sponsor.
Artist Raphael Iaccarino will judge the show. He is an internationally known artist whose vivid watercolors are inspired by the Costa Rican rain forests and jungles. Iaccarino, whose work is exhibited in public and
private collections worldwide, has spent years observing the primary subject of his inspiring work.

Wow...did this month whizzzzzzzzzzz by! I guess part of it is getting back on my feet....after the broken bone in my foot and the way it affected by walk...I eventually ruptured two discs in my back...I am walking and driving again and going to PT twice a week...strengthening my "core" muscles....Now that I am off the vicodin and celebrex...I have a clear head...lots of energy, great ideas and am rockin!

I am working to finish the order for the Rockford Art Museum Store.
They recently finished a total renovation and you must walk through the store to enter the exhibits. It is an elegant area and their items are displayed beautifully with fantastic lighting....Presentation is everything...right!

I am also finishing preparing my pieces for the newest exhibit at the Next Picture Show in Dixon - I AM WOMAN
